Vacuum casting

Vacuum casting is a common technique to duplicate polymer parts by casting liquid polymer under vacuum into a tempered silicon tool. The necessary master forms for creating those silicon tools can be fabricated straight from 3D-CAD data by various rapid prototyping technologies like e.g. stereolithography.

A major advantage of the vacuum casting process is the fast and cost-effective fabrication of low and medium quantities with near-series material properties. Complicated shapes and geometries, undercuts, stiff/flexible components, transparent parts or the integration of standard parts can be realised without difficulty and with high reproduction accuracy.

Vacuum casting PUR

Due to low material prices and a comparatively high durability of the utilised silicon tools the vacuum casting of PUR resins is the most cost-efficient option for the fabrication of vacuum cast parts.

Vacuum casting PA

This variation of the vacuum casting technique allows to realise very high, near-series component properties, which can be additionally improved by additives. The fabricated parts are gas- and waterproof, chemically resistant and offer a high abrasive and wear resistance.
